York is conveniently located in North York, with access via Go Transit, local transit systems (TTC, YRT, VIVA, Zoom), as well as near major highways. If you have questions related to access to campus, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we are happy to help you find the most convenient way to York University. Listed below are some options:

TTC – Subway to Downsview Station or Yonge/Sheppard Station, take the 196 Rocket to York University Commons. See map attached for location of Pond Residence. Please note that if you  are coming in on the weekend via TTC, the 196 from Downsview Station would be the most convenient route.

Go Transit – There are a number of Go buses that stop at the York University Bus Loop. Check Go Transit’s page here for more information on buses and schedules to the York University Bus Loop.

Driving – York University’s campus address is 4700 Keele Street, Toronto Ontario M3J 1P3. Pond Road Residence is located at 92 The Pond Road.

Parking will be available at the Bennett Centre for Student Services.

 From Highway 401

  • Take Hwy. 401 to Keele Street
  • Exit at Keele Street and go north
  • Follow Keele Street north to Sheppard Avenue and turn left
  • Follow Sheppard west to Sentinel Road, turn right
  • Follow Sentinel north, past Finch Avenue. Continue to The Pond Road and turn right.
  • Pond Road Residence will be on your left hand side, at the intersection or Pond Road and Atkinson Road.

From Highway 407

  • Take Hwy. 407 to Keele Street
  • Exit at Keele Street and go south
  • Follow Keele Street south of Steeles Avenue (the campus is on your right)
  • Turn right onto Pond Road (the Pond Road Entrance).
  • Pond Road Residence will be on your right-hand side at the intersection of Pond Road and Atksinson Road.

From Highway 400 (southbound)

  • Take Hwy. 400 south to Hwy. 7
  • Exit onto Hwy. 7 and go east
  • Follow Hwy. 7 east to Keele Street
  • At Keele Street go south, past Steeles Avenue (the campus is on your right)
  • Turn right onto Pond Road (the Pond Road Entrance).
  • Pond Road Residence will be on your right-hand side at the intersection of Pond Road and Atksinson Road.

From Highway 400 (northbound)

  • Take Hwy. 400 north to Finch Avenue
  • Exit onto Finch Ave. and go east
  • Follow Finch Avenue east to Sentinel Road, turn left
  • Follow Sentinel north. Continue to The Pond Road and turn right.
  • Pond Road Residence will be on your left hand side, at the intersection or Pond Road and Atkinson Road.

From Toronto Pearson International Airport:

If you are driving to the campus from the airport:

Take 401 East to 400 North, exit at Finch Avenue going east, turn left on Sentinel Road. Follow Sentinel and turn right at Pond Road. The Pond Residence will be on your left at the intersection of Pond Road and Atkinson Road. You can take a taxi directly from the airport to the York University Keele Campus. A taxi from the airport to the University is approximately $50 Canadian.

An alternative option to get from the airport to the York University Keele Campus would be by public transit.

  • You can take the 58 Malton bus which serves from Terminal 3 (Arrivals Level), then Jetliner Road and Airport Road, also from Terminal 1 (Ground level) at Pearson Airport. Service operates specifically for this bus from approximately 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM.
  • Take the 58 Malton bus an approximate 60 minute one-way travel time to Lawerence Ave. West Station.
  • Once you have arrived at Lawerence Ave. West Station take the subway Northbound to Downview Station.
  • You can take either the 106 or 196 buses which will take you directly to the York University Keele Campus.
